As the poodle eyed the pinchbug he approached it and started to snatch at it, time after time he missed, trying to figure out the best way to finally hit it. As he was trying he turned on his back, and started to drift off. He put his head down lightly on the beetle. The beetle grabbed the dog and was soon flung a couple of yards away. The dog, now angry wanted revenge. As he approached the beetle again, he attempt to snatch it and get his revenge. Time after time he failed, getting more tired after every attempt. He soon got too tired and focused his mind on a fly who was whizzing around. The fly was no interest to the dog as he slowly began to sit down. He forgot the beetle entirely and sat right on top of it. Now the whole church was watching the dog race around the room trying to find his way out.
All though it was the dog that completely forgot about the pinchbug, Tom always tricks people into doing his work, by simple making them forget. For an example, the whitewash fence. Always remember, do not forget.
