Feel weak, and when you feel weak, you feel like you wanna just give up.
But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength
And just pull that ---- out of you and get that motivation to not give up
And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse."
The game started off great the Patriots had stopped the spectacular Broncos offense as easily as it could get. The Broncos punted leaving the Patriots on their own half. The Patriots advance to the Broncos 40, and that is when the tables turned. The ball fell, 60 yards later but on the same play, the Broncos went up seven- nothing. Slowly, throughout the first half, the Broncos piled up their side of the scoreboard and annihilated the Patriots offense. The first half was over, 24-0 Broncos. Every single Patriots fan was shocked. No one could think about it, it was to cold to even try. My brother, Dad and I were thinking, should we leave? After 20 minutes of discussion we decided to stay just because it would be the only game that we would go to that year and we would want to see at least one Patriots TD.
But we did not see one TD, we saw 4! The Patriots came out with a bang in the second half turning the tables once again to a crazy 28-24 game, but on the winning side. The crowd erupted every score and all the fans were going wild. The celebrating created a warmth that gave everyone the energy to get pumped up and help the Patriots finish the game strong. With 7:37 left the Patriots kicked a field goal giving them a 7 point pillow. The Broncos were still fighting, and finally got their fourth touchdown to tie the game at 31-31. The game was all about the defense in the last 3 minutes, 6 seconds of the second game after the Broncos touchdown. The second half was over and everyone was just as amazed as they were it the first half, but this time in a good way.
My brother my dad and I were warm and energetic. We looked at each other thinking, "I think we made the right choice." The game returned and Denver got the ball. 5 plays, 22 yards and 2 minutes 39 seconds later, the Broncos punted. The Pats now had the momentum, any score wins. The Broncos defense did not let down shutting down the Patriots, and after 5 plays, we punted. The Broncos knew that if they scored, they would win. The Patriots forced a punt that was fair caught on the twenty. The Pats needed 80 yards for a touchdown or 45 for a good attempt at a field goal. The Pats got nothing and the fourth punt of overtime was just about to happen. The momentum shifted to the Broncos for a moment. The kick soared through the air and hit the ground, but after the ground it hit a Bronco leg! FUMBLE!!! Nate Ebner recovered the ball on the Broncos 13. Tom Brady centered the kick, perfect snap, perfect kick, 34-31, and that was the game. The crowd leaped in excited as if we had just won the Super Bowl.
When things are getting tough, you have to face them, do not back down. It could end badly, but it could also end spectacularly. If you face them, and they turn out bad, you can at least say you tried.
