The shooter took his free throw and missed. Middlesex had gotten the rebound, but missed their shot. This time, I pounced on the ball, took possession of it, and released a pass to the nearby point guard. I realized that this was not so bad and actually it was quite fun being back on the wood court. A few possessions later, Coach Bradley took me out, so I could take a little break. I thought to myself, we are winning by a lot, I am playing fine, and it is basketball, one of my favorite sports.
A couple of game minutes had passed and it was my turn to go back in. I got a couple of steals and rebounds, and I was subbed out again. This process repeated for the rest of the game. As the game came to an end, I was not nervous anymore and I was actually extremely excited to be back. Although I did not score many points, I played a decent game and I was pretty satisfied, knowing that it was my first game back. I now know that I am back, and ready to play.
On the half hour car ride home, I realized that I love basketball and even if I am nervous, I should not have been, because when it's done and already happened, I won' be nervous anymore.
